Many of you know that my account was spammed over the weekend and you may have had a message allegedly from me. It does not sound like the way I communicate. Please DELETE. I have got back to many of you who have told me about it , thank you.

My e mail account is now fully up and running. It is apparently a data breach from a small firm from which I made a purchase. So please be careful when making online purchases .

Thank you all for your support. Pat xx

Here we are in the middle of January already! They say that time goes by more quickly as you get older – I just wish it would slow down a bit.
2024 has not started well, with five of our members passing away (I include Bruce Stickley who passed away on 30th December).
However, we can look forward to the AGM on 8th March, plus for me, the Regional Meeting two days before. Then there are the trips we have organised so far – Northumberland in July and Liverpool in October. We are always looking for ideas and suggestions are welcome. If it’s feasible, we’ll do it, so don’t be shy.
At the AGM, I will be seeking views on the format of that meeting and any other social get-togethers. We reverted to daytime meetings because some of our older members were no longer comfortable driving in the dark, but we are constantly reviewing what we do and with Begbrook being such a good venue for both numbers and catering, then perhaps we should be thinking about going back there. Almondsbury Village Hall is a good venue, but its biggest drawback is parking. Let us know what you think.
Losing Mike Massey and Geoff Williams has left a big hole to fill and I am pleased to report that we welcomed Jerry Lander onto the Committee at our recent committee meeting. We still need a couple more people though. Please consider helping. It’s not onerous – we meet 3 or 4 times a year and we mainly consider welfare and social issues, with the occasional look at national matters.
